The Affinity Project: Urban Scholars Student Survey

About this Tool

This survey is intended to collect baseline data from youth on the adult mentors in a student’s life. Students are asked if they have a mentor and different aspects of their relationship to their mentor (if they have one). The survey includes questions about perceptions of social, academic, and career support, approach to personal problem solving, academic help seeking, perceptions of the usefulness of adult support, self-confidence, and persistence or ‘grit.’ The survey also includes questions about students’ background: age, gender, race, and parent education.
