About this Tool

This protocol includes pre- and post- program questions for understanding the network of supportive adults in a student’s life. Part 1, Pre-Intervention interview topics include: adults who provided different forms of support (emotional support, adult material assistance (e.g., lending something), cognitive related to finding a job) usefulness of each form of support, desire for support from adults for each form of support, positive feedback from adults, and socializing with adults. Part 2 Pre-Intervention interview topics include: mentors, perceived value of connecting to adults in community, comfort with approaching adults for guidance or help, and preferred approach to finding a mentor. The topics for the Post-Intervention interview are the same as those in Part 1 and 2. In addition, the Post-Intervention interview includes questions about youths’ experience of the training they received.
